Australiens Leichtathletik-Ikone Cathy Freeman hat den Fußballerinnen aus Down Under nach dem Halbfinal-Aus bei der Heim-WM gegen England (1:3) ein dickes Lob ausgesprochen. "Ich bin so unglaublich stolz auf euch Mädchen. Ihr habt alles gegeben und eine ganze Nation inspiriert", schrieb die 50-Jährige bei X/Twitter: "Kopf hoch und auf in die Zukunft!"
