Thomas Tuchel hat ein erfolgreiches Debüt als Nationaltrainer in England gefeiert. Das Team kam zum Auftakt der Qualifikation zur WM 2026 in Wembley zu einem 2:0 (1:0)-Erfolg gegen Albanien. Myles Lewis-Skelly brachte die Gastgeber nach 20 Minuten in Führung, Bayern-Star Harry Kane machte in der 77. Minute alles klar. Damit führt England die Gruppe K vor Lettland, Serbien, Andorra und Albanien an.
